Cornie Talley 1929-2010
We are saddened but we are thankful to announce that Cornie Talley, mother of Roger and Kirk Talley, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 28, 2010. She was 81 years old.

Lauren,
You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that the Lord give you all the strength to make it through this difficult time. I know it’s hard to lose someone that you were so close to, but I know that you know that she’s in a better place now and that you’ll be with her again someday. I also wanted to thank you for writing your book. It has been such a blessing to me & exactly what I’m in need of right now. I have been in tears much of the time that I have spent reading it and it’s helping me to receive a spiritual cleansing and get my life back on track from the straying ways I had begun to partake of. Again, I will continue to pray for you and the family in the coming weeks and months.
Love,
Ashley
Dear Trio Family. I was sorry to hear of your mother and grandmother’s passing. Sorrow and joy can live in the same heart. You are sorrowful because you will miss her physical presence but joyful that she is now with the Lord in her new body and life – with all His beauty in her.
I am 78, a minister of the Gospel for the past 54 years. Recently I discovered your music and song on the “Rock of Ages” Bill Gaither DVD. My “Proverbs 31 wife”, Beryl, and I were led into the immediate presence of the Lamb as you sang, “Hallelujah. praise the Lamb.” Since then I have listened to more of your anointed ministry and I thank God for the blessing and pleasure it brings to our hearts and the hearts of many thousands more. God bless you as you continue to make our blessed Savior known. Gary Strong.

Vicki (my wife) and i are are saddened and jubilant at the same time about Cornie. My mother died from the same affliction and believe me it is a wonderful thing when one of God’s children is released from that torment. We met at Mobile , AL and Debra and Vicki were pretty chummy after they met. “Two peas in a pod” I suspect! Was by any chance Cornie from an ancestral line of Kirkpatricks’ from Valentine Kirkpatrick? Both my Mom and Dad (rest their souls) are downline from old Valetine. If so then we are related. Just guessing since he came in through S Carolina and we have relative scattered all over your neck of the woods as well as Miss., La., and Tx.! If we are let me know. Thanks Bob and Vicki Brown
Lauren and all, my heart hurts for your sadness…am praying for you.
Love and blessings,
Ann Downing

Love you Lauren!! Praying for you!!
Lauren, Your Mamaw Cornie was the most wonderful Christian lady I have ever known. I grew up with your Dad and family. She always took so much interest in the children and always had a beautiful smile. I had the privilege to visit with her and Red at the Nursing Home. Papaw Red was so faithful to stay with her and see to her needs. Many times he would comfort her as he touched her face. She knew his touch and presence. Cornie made a difference in this world with her glowing smile and showing Jesus in her life. She showed us all what it is like to be a Christian. I truly look forward to meeting her again in Heaven one day. She touched many lives and will always be fondly remembered . I have the CD with the Talleys singing with her beautiful voice. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. I was not aware of her passing until I went to Sunday School this morning. I pray God’s comforting peace to you and your family. What a great reunion day it will be!!! Love and Prayers, Diane Whitaker Ball
Talley Family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during this time!
My family lost a wonderful member as well over the Christmas holiday. My Great-Aunt Sherry went home to be with Jesus on Christmas night. Such a sad day to leave us on, but a wonderful day to meet our Lord! : )
Love ya all!
Emily
I know you will miss your grandmother but earth’s loss is Heavens gain. She’s waiting for you just around the bin. Love you and your family.
I’m sorry to hear about your recent loss. Our family lost 2 during November & December.
I am looking for the name of a song (and the album I would find it on) that I heard you sing on a TV program in the last couple of months. The only line I can remember was “wonderful, almighty God” and you sang a portion of the song in Spanish. I believe the recording I saw was from a live concert or apperance.
Thanks
Myra
Myra, the song you are looking for is called “Almighty” and you can find it on my “Surrender” album, located in the online store.
Thank you everyone for your kind words and your friendship. My mamaw was such a big influence on my life and I (and the rest of my family) will miss her terribly but we are so glad that she’s at home and she’s whole again. Even better is knowing that she heard applause when she walked through the gates and we will see her again! God bless you all.
Thanks for the info.
While it is difficult at the time for those left behind, there is always a comfort and a peace that comes from knowing we will see them again.
Hi Lauren, I’ve been praying much for your family. I know it is a tough time even though we know where she is. I haven’t gotten to see you in forever it seems….since your conference last year in Pigeon Forge. Gosh I miss yall. I planned to bring you a copy of my little book! But, you haven’t been too close to Woodstock GA. Plus my mom has been sick & stuff like that. So, hopefully soon! I plan to come to Quartet Convention this coming Sept….know it is a long ways off….but I am really looking forward to seeing yall. Anyway….just wanted you to know I pray for yall every morning on my way to work. Take care! Keeping yall extra close during this time of your grandma going to her best Home ever…. Sandy

Lauren,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I am 15 1/2 and love you and your family. Your music has ministered to me in so many ways. I have lots of your cd’s but am looking for the accompaniment cd’s to Closet Religion and I’ve Got Joy. Do you know where I might be able to purchase them? Jordan Grace McCaskill in Oklahoma
Jordan,
The Closet Religion track is available as part of an entire-CD track here: http://www.laurentalleyonline.com/shop/surrender-complete-soundtracks/
I’ve Got Joy is from a Talley Trio project, Hope For Tomorrow. Now only Lauren’s solo projects are available for sale on this site, so here is the Hope For Tomorrow complete track on another site (where you can purchase the whole thing or just the one track): http://crossroadsmusic.com/talley-trio/hope-for-tomorrow-complete/
Lauren,
I just realized that. Lol thank you for your help. God bless you guys. Jordan Grace McCaskill in Oklahoma
No problem, and blessings to you as well!
I live in Oklahoma too(: Are you going to see them this weekend? There coming to Yokon && Clamore?
Oh I wish I could! But I’m not going to be able to make it
I LOVE her!:)
Aw:( And me too!! She’s amazing!!(:
So sorry. I had fun with Cornie when I went to see her. We would talk and laugh.
She loved to make crafts. I bought an angel made from an old quilt. I passed one day and saw her in the yard. I stopped and talked in the car. I realized she was having a problem and I went in and watched her cook. All the eyes were on high. I said Cornie I think you can turn the heat down now. I stayed quite a while with her. She said Red would be back in a few minutes. I stayed for 2 hours and he never did come home.
I would not leave her until she promised me she would rest until he got back.
I prayed she would be still until he came home. She said he went to the Dentist.
She was a lot of fun. Such a beautiful going home service you had.
Love you all,
Mary
